DSc NguyenThe Hoang, Deputy Director of the Hanoi-based Military Central Hospital108’s Trauma Ward joined over 550 scientists from 74 countriesworldwide, who won Germany ’s Alexander von Humboldt Foundationscholarships and science awards.
Earlier at aceremony held in Bamberg city on March 15, Hoang won the FriedrichWilhelm Bessel Research Award for his contributions to reconstructivesurgery.
President Gauck said Germany spares no effort tocreate a favourable scientific and research environment forinternational scientists to study and research.
Hoang became anarmy doctor in 1987 and received a scholarship from the German AcademicExchange Service (DAAD) in 1994 to pursue a doctorate degree at Rechtsder Isar Hospital run by the University of Munich .
In 2006, he got a Humboldt scholarship to conduct a research project in Germany .
The Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship Foundation has established anetwork of over 26,000 scientists from 130 countries, including 49 Nobellaureates.-VNA
