The Project’s management board on May 30 announced to the WB the above figures, 18 months after it was launched.
The project was funded by a WB preferential loan of 90.3 million USDwith a repayment term of 25 years and an annual interest rate of 2.5percent, along with 20.4 million USD of state corresponding funding.
The five-year project and its four components focus on upgradingtransport, water supply and drainage systems, low-income residentialarea environments; the construction of resettlement housing areas,clinics, schools and markets in the city’s wards.
The UrbanUpgrading Project for Can Tho city is part of a project to upgrade sixcities in the Mekong Delta region by improving the environment andliving conditions for communities.-VNA
