Receiving Indian Minister of ShippingG. K. Vasan in Hanoi on May 24, the PM hailed the outcomes of talksbetween Vasan and Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, saying thatagreements reached by the two ministries will make practicalcontributions to the two countries’ relations.
Dungsaid Vietnam wants to do its utmost to strengthen links with Indiain various fields, especially in economics, trade, investment,national defence and security, education and training, for the benefitof the two nations.
He also expressed his wish thatthe two countries will support each other at international forums, forthe stability and prosperity of both nations, the region and the world.
The PM suggested the Indian side promptly negotiateand sign a new agreement to replace the 1993 aviation agreement, andcement maritime traffic and shipbuilding cooperation
Vasan said the two ministries signed the Maritime Agreement during hisvisit, shared experiences and discussed solutions to port management andmaritime transport.
He affirmed that Indiaconsiders Vietnam a pillar in its Look East policy and is willing towork with the Vietnamese side to bolster cooperation in fields of eachside’s strength.-VNA
